I have a standard transmission and lately sometimes it will take several depressions of the clutch to get it to start.It's like nothing is happening, when it does it starts right up and runs fine
There is a switch on the top of the pedal that completes the ignition circuit. that is most likely the problem. however, i have found that the carpet mat can inhibate the pedal travel and stop the switch from making contact. try moving the carpet from beneath the pedal. changing the switch is the alterative
