I have a T-49 freezer with compressor running defrost timer board is showing in refrigeration mode. I have power on the #4 terminal going to the evaporator fans. Both door switches are closed. I am not getting any power out of the defrost termination switch. I tried wiring around this switch to get by until replacement arrives but keep blowing breaker. Resistance on each fan is 26 ohms. Is it possible to do this or do I have to wait for the defrost termination switch. Is there another reason the fans are not running?

Most freezers have 2 controls. 1 is a defrost terminator and the other is a fan delay. the delay and the defrost terminator can sometimes be a "2 in 1" type switch. you would have to study the wiring diagram. The delay will not let the fans come on untill the evap reaches a preset temperature. take another look at the diagram. It may be that the evap is not getting cold enough. you may have a refrigeration issue.
