Top line... be safe & always verify your CIRCUIT BOARDS YOURSELF.
Typically flashing means the main board has a level of logic that has been offended by the power board... Sounds like you have some experience inside these sets... Never-the-less: Take pictures before you start (good usable pictures, precisely how things are routed)... always wear protection... static discharge (ESD) can DESTROY the most robust circuit packs.
See wristband below... Then look up Tampatec & watch him prove my point when he smokes some collateral packs... but is big enough to admit it... (good viewing).
As for me... the boards are to cheap to be recommending any HOT work... (dangerous)... and you really have ONLY two major boards to try...!
Power board & Main-board... My vote goes to the Power as the first best candidate. (30 seconds usually means cheesy failed capacitor)..
But that's why they call it an iterative process... Besides you always wanted that spare circuit pack.
Careless is the only guarantee you'll get from me. If you go in carelessly... I guarantee you will FAIL.
