I have a top loading Hoover Galaxy that is an older model. The Washing machine will spin but the water won't drain. I have checked the drain pipe and it is not blocked. The machine also makes a strange buzzing sound when it clicks onto the drain and spin parts of the cycle
The buzzing noise is coming from the pump motor. The impeller is most likely blocked preventing water to be pumped out or the pump motor itself is not working at all. Check the pump assembly and clear the impeller from any debris that might cause the failure of water to be pumped out. Check also the tub-to-pump hose and make sure it is clear.
The pump assembly needs to be replaced if the impeller is broken or if everything is clear but the pump fails to force the water out to the drainage.
