I HAVE A TOSHIBA SATELLITE P35-S611. HAS A GOOD HD, AND RAM, BUT NO DVDPLAYER OR WIFI CARD INSTALLED. WHEN I START IT, POWER , ON, AND BATTERY CHARGE LIGHT COME ON AND STAY ON. FANS RUN FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS AND THEN THEY SHUT OFF. NO BIOS OR ANYTHING, IT IS JUST DEAD. ANY SUGGESTIONS?? JIM J

From what you have described it sounds like a faulty Adapter. Whenthe adapter goes bad, it neither charges the battery or runs on AC power more so if you don't see the charge light being on when the laptop is turned off.
Probably you messed around in bios with the cpu temperature limit ..and that's why it does this..or it was shut down in an improper way .... the thing to do is to go to bios and reset to factory defaults..but ....cause the thing doesn't want to boot..I guess the only way is to open it ..and look for the bios clear jumper...or the battery ..any one of these to ..either short the jumpers to clear bios...or remove the bios battery for a few seconds..will restore it to the factory optimal defaults...(in case there are no other damages..)... also by the things you described..it may be a ram memory too..cause the only thing that will keep a bios to see and show devices on boot ...is to not see the ram memory cause it is the first thing the it shows...but the fact that it doesn't remain on loop ..with a black screen but it shuts down ...gets me thinking that something is commanding the shutdown ..and this can not be from the ram ...so the next best thing will be the cpu ...and even if it is not damaged..probably it has a temperature protection activated..and it is seted too low..and it reaces to that point in seconds..and shuts down ... Another thing that can make it behave this way is the CPU cooler malfunction ...which will lead to the same reaction ...I mean the cooler dont work or is damaged...and the cpu reaches the max temperature in seconds and shuts down.. The thing to do is open it ..and after removing the battery ...and put it back ..reboot..if it will boot and ask you for F1..its ok ...if it behaves the same this is something damaged and probably is the cpu...cause nothing will shut it down but the cpu fail or high temp......
if it starts up what happen is you system was hibernating and you was not aware of it.
If it does not start with the battery out you got a hardware failure and its probably do to a overheat or some other underlying issue and will need to be repaired.

ok if that did not work then you have a hard ware failure and the laptop will need to be looked at by a tech, it is what it is i am trying to help you threw a email system. Try taking the memory out then take a pencil eraser and give it some rubs on the tabs then put it back and and see if that lights it up if not then the laptop will need to be looked at.

Hi, There can be two major reasons for this. Either a hardware problem or a virus attack. To conclude which one is it you need to boot to a safe mode . Start the machine and tap f8 or other key that will allow you to boot into safe mode. Once in safe mode you’ll be able to see how long the pc will remain on. That way you’ll get to see if it’s a virus or not. Not to me it sounds a hardware issue where you CPU is getting heated. Might want to replace the CPU fan or replace the Power Supply with a higher capacity. Please let me know if this does not help else please accept it. Thank You for contacting Fixya.com

You told me that the charge light comes on after you turn on the laptop. Before that?

Take out the battery first!!
with the battery out plug it into the wall!!
