I have a vivitek 56" DLP. I have found that I replace the lamp about every 14mon. We do watch it alot. This time I went to turn it on and the buuton did not click like it uually does. And it never comes on. There's a whirring sounds by the lamp, sounds like the balast is trying to turn on the lamp or color wheel but nothing ever happens. No sounds or LED lights. If I unplug the tv and plug back in it will make the clicking soundd to turn on, but nothing else happens

Yes, that guy is right, its color wheel that giving whirring sound and causing problem.

CK the Lamp Fan it maybe defective and the Ballast Board is what powers Lamp on, But if the Lamp Fan is defective then Lamp will not light.

This is indicative of a failed power supply now within the unit. For it's age that is not all that unusual at all, these (aside from lamps of course) are the most common part to fail. If you are not getting anything to come on then this is most certainly the culprit.
