I have a yaesu 7900r radio I put a repeater frequency into the radio, its in memory, but wont hit the repeater when the car is on, if I turn the car off it will hit the repeater, what would cause this

I have a yaesu 7900r radio I put a repeater frequency into the radio, its in memory, but wont hit the repeater when the car is on, if I turn the car off it will hit the repeater, what would cause this

It sounds to me that your car is generating noise on the power lines and causing noise on the transmit signal. Make sure that your positive and negative leads from the radio go directly to the cars battery! This will help prevent this problem.
