I have a yard works snow thrower with a 10.5 hp tecumseh engine. The only way I can get the engine to shut down is by removing the plug wire while the engine is running. Removing the ignition switch and placing the throttle in the shut off position doesn't have any effect on the engine. What can I do? I have checked the wires coming from the ignition switch and they are connected

The ignition switch probably has a short in it , I would have it checked at a shop . They shouldnt charge to check it . Good luck
