I have a ZTR 50" Troy Bilt mower. When turning to the left it has a grinding noise like low hydraulic fluid but I don't see a place to add oil. Any ideas?
Hi, Most of those are sealed units, one tranny for each side. There is no way to add fluid. Sounds like you might have a bad drive unit, and they run around $800. I've seen this happen several times. This is from the owners manual..... " HYDROSTATIC TRANSMISSION MAINTENANCE The zero turn tractor is equipped with dual integrated hydrostatic pumps, motors, and transaxles that are sealed and do not require regular maintenance. All service work on the hydrostatic transmissions should be performed by your authorized Troy-Bilt Service Dealer
