Please check the tyres [or U.S. tires or we also call them, pickup roller] which look like rollers and are fitted inside the paper tray. If they look shiny, clean them {if you can't see it, use a flashlight}
Pickup Roller
You need to check the Texture, if it's totally worn out and cleaning will not help, you'll need to replace it. But first try to clean it using a small ball of cotton dipped in alcohol or acetone and if you can see the improvement, go ahead, clean it properly and don't try to turn it manually, you may damage it.
If there is no other mechanism problem or technical problem, this will definitely fix your problem.
If you need further help, do let me know, Good luck.
Ok, firstly remove the Fuser Unit, take an A4 size thicker paper (slightly thicker than normal plain paper - photo paper will do the trick), push it inside the Tray until you hear the "click" sound. Release it and take another plain paper, give a print command while you look inside the Tray and when you see that the printer is starting pulling, push the paper inside and check whether it can pick up the paper or not. If this isn't helpful, you need to open the printer apart and check for paper jam (possibly pieces of broken paper/s is/are stuck on the passage or even a piece of hair or a piece of thread can create this problem). It's also possible that mechanism inside the paper tray is broken, so check the unit very carefully and clean it with blower and brush.
Do let me know when you are done.
