I have already printed more than 1000 cards on my printer. Now often it started some problem like it prints the yellow & magenta layers, then skips printing cyan & black (with screeching noise as the ribbon passes) to printing overlay (sometimes skips overlay), but stopped short of ejecting to the output hopper

I think all you need at this point in time is servicing the card printer, with some of the hardware components like the ribbon been replaced. try get a technician that will help you with this.
