I have an 02 smart pulse, semi auto box, when I try for reverse all I get is an indication on the dash that says 0, it's getting to be a bit of a pain now, please help

Hi Steve. Your foot has to be firmly (pressure )on the break to engage reverse gear. It won't go into reverse gear doing so.Hope this helps.
Sorry, meant to say, it WONT go into reverse gear with out doing so!
