I have an acer aspire 4520 laptop that will not stay on for more than 2 seconds...I have had the laptop apart and I cant seem to find anything wrong with it. When I press the power button the laptop will start with the three lights up in the top left and the fan will start to spin and then it just shuts back off. Any help would be appreciated :)

I'm afraid this sounds like a fairly major hardware failure to me (possibly motherboard) your best bet is to contact Acer and see if there is any help they can provide
I had almost the same problem with my 4520. It went off after a few minutes of running, and later it got shorter and shorter time of running. the latest was 3 or 5 seconds only. I went to a laptop technician and was told that it was overheated before. Then he replaced the thermal grease over the cpu (under the heatsink) and also over the nvidia chip and the aluminum cooler and over the two transistors (you will know when you open that aluminum cooler). It went well for a few days but not for long. I bought noctua thermal grease and replace it by myself then. it went well but also not for long.... I am still strugling with this heat problem on the heatsink..... So you can check the heatsink whether it was too hot and then was automatically shutdown..... My suggestion is seek a professional help and then trade it with a new one..Good luck.......
Hi, i think we have a similar problem, i bought my 4520 last sept 08, We should emai Acer PH about this issue, i just bought Acer 1410 2 weeks ago before my 4520 went DEAD. I know regret why i bought this unit. The MB cost aroung 10,000 pesos..
