I have an Admiral side by side fridge freezer model number GC2027HXKW and the water dispenser is not working. The ice is still being made but I cannot get any water to come out
You either have a bad contact switch or the mounting pins holding the switch are broken. This switch is behind the dispenser cover. On the bottom of the cover there are two slots for a flat head screw driver to pop the cover off. There are several plastic tabs on the cover sides and top that you must be careful not to break. If you have a plastic round piece where the water dispenses you will have to remove this. Squeeze at the top and the piece. There are tabs that will release. After you have removed the cover there is a touch pad control board - inspect for burn marks. You will need a small screw driver to pry the electrical connector free. Set the cover assembly aside. You will see a green control board. Ground yourself by touching something metal. Static will knock out a control board. There are several screws holding the board. Remove the board. Know you can see these small contact switches. One on the left side for the ice dispenser and one on the left for the water dispenser. Inspect the housing upon which they are mounted on for broken pins. The contact switch easily slides off these pins. So, either the control board, the contact switch or it's housing is broken.
Or, you have a bad water solenoid valve. This is located in the back lower left hand corner of your refrigerator. You need to un plug your refrigerator. Pull it out far enough were you can remove the bottom cover. There are 2 solenoid valves. The solenoid valve with the water line running up the back of your refrigerator is the ice maker solenoid, the other is your water dispenser valve. You need to take the wire connectors off the valve. Using a multi-meter check for continunity. I am sorry I am not their to repair your unit, Peter

Hello Rosemary:
Are you good with a multi-meter and tools?
