I have an aspire one ZG5 with windows 7 OS but an evaluation copy only!now i want to return my OS to windows XP but the erecovery software is no longer on my laptop!what is the best thing to do?

It appears that you have been using Windows 7 RC (release candidate) When it was installed, you or whoever performed the installation deleted the recovery partition, from what I can tell.
So, either borrow a disc (OS that matches the one you had originally) and install it using your windows product key.
Or........ Go get Windows 7......that's my best advice, honestly.
I ran the RC and got lucky in October, when I was awarded a free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. For most users, Home Premium or Professional (If you like the extra options like the full on backup features) will suffice. Most folks, nearly anyone, has no dire need for the Ultimate version.
