I have an early version of a ew36 scooter and need to retrofit a speed pot. How do I do this, and any other info or schematics would be great. Thanks
I am guessing I could put a pot in series with the throttle. This would be on the low variable voltage wiper lead. I need to know if this is how you do this, if not how. I also need to know what is the value in ohms of the pot to use and how to identify the right cable. Any or all of this info would be so helpful. It would in fact be grateful for any info at all that you have on this scooter as anything is so difficult to come by. Wiring diagrams, schematics, part types and brands etc. Thanks so much, all the best, John Hill.

The manufacturer has a variable speed control on the latest version of the ew36. My best suggestion is to contact the manufacturer for the part if it was not available on your version. They may have a retrofit kit with the harness and schematic so you do not have to reinvent the wheel or damage the existing components. You may need a new console cover where the speed control is mounted near the throttle lever. The manufacturer has done the work already and should provide the best guidance. Under driving the digital electronics with a home grown component may produce poor performance and potentially damage the controller sensing circuit. Hope this helps.
