I have an Elgin anniversary clock (battery operated) with no manual. How do I set the chimes to match the clock? It has a red button and a black button on the rear of the clock. The black button beeps when you push it
I will try this..but my buttons have an S under red button and a H by black button..as far as the pedulum spinning. make sure the clock is perfectly level. I had to take one of the feet off of mine
I have the solution. set the clock hands, using the little wheel on the back, moving the hands clockwise, to 4 or 5 minutes before any hour. Put the battery in and let the clock run till it chimes at the hour. Count the chimes. Let's say you set it to chime at 10:00. If it chimes six times push the BLACK button 4 times. Be sure it beeps each time you push it. As soon as you finish pushing the Black button the correct number of times then push the RED button once. Now set the clock using the wheel and turning the hands clockwise, to the correct time. Place the dome back on and enjoy. You can leave the battery in during all this setting procedure.I have the solution. set the clock hands, using the little wheel on the back, moving the hands clockwise, to 4 or 5 minutes before any hour. I have a 20 yr old Elgin Anniversary Clock with the Magic Eye battery operated. It chimes 15 mins after the hour. How do I correct this?
There are two steps to setting the chimes, although I am really not sure if step two is needed. Here is how I set mine:
When I set mine, the time was 9:31 a.m.
Step 1- Press the red button (H) 9 times.
Step 2- Press the black button (M) 31 times.
