If it has mechanical moving parts, they possibly have seized due to lack of oil. AVOID oiling if the machine is computerized. (My Bernina 930 Record is electronic, but it needs frequent and thorough oiling to keep it humming. Just avoid the electronic parts, as well as any nylon gears and belts.)
Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...
Thanks, it is mechanical, but I have no idea how to open up the top and oil inside. I have only ever put oil on the part that Elna recommends, i.e. the bobbin case. Is there an instructional video anywhere, do you know? Thanks, it is mechanical, but I have no idea how to open up the top and oil inside. Sorry, unable to find instructions for opening the machine. There are probably some screws somewhere. Appears that the red dots signify oil ports. http://www.ehow.com/how_7777162_troubles... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Nox6-jW...Sorry, unable to find instructions for opening the machine.
