I have an Insinkerator Badger 5 garbage disposal that is about 4 years old. It has started leaking water from the very bottom right from the electrical connection. Do I need a new unit or is this something I can repair myself?

Press a piece of chewing gum in the leaking area--and if that doesn't do the trick --which it wont of course Throw the darn thing away--buy a Evolution Elite by Insinklerator--pretty quiet about $200.00 though--worth it..
