I have an Invacare P9000 XDT wheelchair. I keep getting flashing lights 8 times, indicating controller fault E08. I have extra parts I got from a junk yard but still get the same fault everytime. I've used two different joysticks, and three different controllers. Could this be an issue with batteries? Is there a schematic for the controller?

There isn't much to the P9000 joystick and controller. First and formost have your batteries load tested to ensure you have 24 volts dc. That in itself may solve the problem. I would then check each and every wire connection to make sure there is good continuity on all metal connectors. Check the voltage to ensure ther is only 24-27 volts dc. You could also have an over voltage possibly caused by a short somewhere. Has your chair ever gotton wet? If so one of the motors could be shorted out. Test this by taking out the motor brushes (one at a time) .See if it has water or oil on it. If so you may need to replace that motor. If all that is ok then here is where you can send your joystick and controller for repairs. ( I'm not confident that the ones you got from the junk yard are good.
