I have an old Milwaukee 6378 worm drive saw (8.25") and it leaks a little on the front end. Not much but it is caked with oil soaked sawdust. I am going to change the gasket behind the red plastic "hood". The arbor area is perfectly clean so it isn't leaking there. The only other thing I can see is the blade lock button. Do these leak too? I looked at the parts diagram and there are a couple of o-rings but it doesn't show a o-ring or other seal around the actual button shaft. Anyway if you have any advice on stopping this oil seepage that would be great. John
If you put in the gasket (p/n43-44-0240) like you stated, and install a lock spindle service kit (pn14-46-1365) that should cure most or all of the leaks. The lock spindle kit comes with 2 o-rings and a new cap,one o-ring seals the cap and the other seals the pin. The only other thing that leaks once in a while is the armature seal (p/n45-06-0280) but to change it requires you to dismantle almost the entire saw, it you don't see any oil around the motor then its probably ok.
