Www.remotes.com would have a solution for that original remote. Other then that you do need a remote to get into the menu to rescan for channel 3 because channel 3 is used by devices like dvd'svcr's game consoles the signal is not there all the time so when the tv trys to scan it it finds nothing and ends up on the delete list. What I am saying here in a nutshell this will not be resolved without a remote take it for what its worth it is what it is. You could use your cable box remote if you have like cox,comcast,timewarner etc etc but you then still have to program it for the menu button why play with that? I get no kickback from remotes.com nothing zip zilch nada. They will give you a original remote for a price.
