I have an older SteamMist steam generator that only seems to produce steam for 5 minutes then quits. After maybe 30, you can get it to run again
I bought a house that has a steam room. The generator is from 1987 (yes I know, but read on) I got it to run and so when I turn on the timer and press and hold the air switch, in about 2 min it begins to generate steam (as long as I hold the air switch pressed). However, after about 5 min, the steam cuts out. I can then get it restarted again in about 30 min but not right away. This unit being 25 years old, it should be simpler then today's digital controls. It's plugged in to 220v and is controlled by both the turn knob timer switch and the air button. I was going to bypass the air button to see if that's the cause. Any other suggestions? 1. I'd assume it needs some cleaning-- any advice how? 2. Do these things come with limit switches? I know it has a breaker and fuses-- but they're all good. Model Number SM-3PB :) Thanks for your help!
