I have an older(much) 2400p flatbed scanner. Our computer doesnt have the appropriate plug in for the scanner, which has a db25 female(to the pc) plug. I cant seem to find any info on whether the adapter cable has to be specifically for a scanner, or if a more readily available printer cable will work. Thanks for any help ya'll can provide
This is a PARALLEL scanner and most of the much newer computers don always have these.
You can buy adaptors to install in the computer or USB adaptors that convert it to USB but by the time you have paid for one of those you could buy a new one.
Do a GOOLE search for parralell to USB and that will give you an idea of the cost.
Also do a search for parralel cards to get an idea of that route.
Prices vary from country to country which is why I have not given you any figures
