I have been given a klf300 farm quad with no battery.i hooked my jump leads from my car to the pos and neg batt leads of quad and hit the starter.the quad turned and turned but would not fire.i cleaned carb, have spark and cleaned airways.tried again to no avail.i then tried pull start and it fired up.but as soon as i disconnect the jump cable the bike dies.do you have to have a battery using pull start?why doesnt the bike fire up using start button but as soon as you try using the pull start it fires up?am i missing something here?help please
1. Yes, do you must have a battery using pull start. 2. The bike doesn't fire up using start button, but as soon as you try using the pull start it fires up, because the bike's electrical starter motor have a short circuit to the ground or the starter motor supply wire is on short circuit to the ground! 3. Check and repair if necessary the starter motor supply wire. If everything is in good condition then remove the electrical starter motor and repair it!
