I have been trying to install Roxio Easy VHS to DVD on and off for two years on my 6 year-old Sony Vaio laptop. The DVD software seems to load OK and confirm the completed install, but when I try to launch, all I get is a small red box with the Roxio logo in it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but I always get the same result. What am I doing wrong?

Based on what you have said, you have installed and reinstalled the software for several times and still does not work. What you can do is to prepare your computer first on installing the software and completely remove the software first before installing it. Please refer to the links below for the troubleshooting steps: To prepare your computer: http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/content/000080GN&PARAMS=set-locale=en Complete Uninstall: http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/content/000056CR&PARAMS=set-locale=en
I recently purchased Roxio "Easy" VHS to DVD and was able to get the hardware (Video Capture USB device) to work ok. The problem was the capture software. After a week of troubleshooting with Roxio technical support, was never able to make it work. So I got a 100% free program on the net called "Golden Videos" from NCH Software and it works like a dream. It's very simple to use, has more adjustment possibility than Roxio's progam and most important...it works. It gives you the choice to save to a file or directly to DVD. Normally I save to a file and then check to make sure its ok before burning a DVD. I then use Windows DVD Maker, but you can choose whatever program you like. Hope my comments help.I recently purchased Roxio "Easy" VHS to DVD and was able to get the hardware (Video Capture USB device) to work ok. The problem was the capture software.
