I have both a Black & Decker and a Homelite string trimmer. Both have the same problem--I use nearly a full spool of string each time I trim the yard. I've re-spooled it myself and purchased replacement heads from the manufacturer but get the same result--the string breaks within a few seconds and I have to take the head apart and feed the line again. Any thoughts?

Are you using good quality line ? they are not all the same !
Ensure you are winding it on to the spools in neat and tidy rows
