Hi Ken-- Positemp cartdiges should deliver years of maintenance free operation. Usually, clogs develope downstream from the cartridge. If the cartridge still works well, that is, if it still pulls and turns freely, and the rest of the house has decent water pressure, check your shower head. Remove the head and test the water pressure. If the water flows better without it, you may have a clogged shower head. Over time, rust and scale can build up inside the shower head and block what would otherwise be decent water pressure. If a visual inspection does not yield any visible blockage, you can consider cleaning the head by soaking it in a calcium removing solution such as CLR. This often helps, but my preference is to replace the shower head completely. --Hope this helps.
