I have had a Liteon LVW-5005 DVD Recorder for two or three years. I am now having difficuly in getting the tray to open. I've asked around and the problem seems to be the belt that operates the tray. The person I spoke to said he is having the same problem but is unable to get replacement belts. Can you advise me how to obtain some. Thanks
Try your neighborhood electronics store (for audio/TV), not a computer store. The belt would roughly be identical for some electronic devices like mechanical counters, VCRs, old Walkman or regular cassette players and the like.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
LOL, of all things to remember about my country, but the offer still stands. May I also refer you to another FixYa expert who is based in UK? Perhaps you may consult on him as well and maybe more advantageous due to proximity. We call him Ginko and clicking here would lead you to his profile. Thereafter, clicking on the "Ask Me" button would make your further queries directly visible to him. Again, doing the same in my profile would also make your questions directly posted to me so should you still desire.
And I wish you luck with your belt (while I try to look for at least a pair of shoes from the 5000 for the wife).
Cheers. Bye.

Still, for anything, "Ask Me". The gentleman from Eaglescliffe might really be to your advantage, I am in the Philippines.
