I have had an automatic renewal taken from my bank account despite having removed norton security from my computer, how can I recover the amount taken and ensure this doesn't happen again
The product was purchased in the UK in 2012 now being used in Australia.

The renewal is annual correct? If you want to stop it contact your bank and stop it if you used pay pall sign in and go to your account go to payments and stop that one fill out a complaint stating dates and all info on payments sometimes pay pall will help or your bank might help. I do not know what the laws where the purchase toke place are. or the ones down under are ether.
