I have installed a Zalman CNPS10X extreme - all the apprpriate LEDs are glowing but the fan just "twitches" and does not actually rotate on auto or manual setting - what is the most likely cause? Or does the fan only come on when a certain temperature is reached?
Depending on how the BIOS settings are set, the fan might kick in when the CPU has more processing load & its temperature starts to rise gradually. You could test it by placing more load on the CPU (running CPU intensive software) & observing the fan behavior. Just to rest assured.
In case you need any further help, feel free to drop me a note. Could be. The PWM fan's operation will vary depending on the motherboard's BIOS settings. Please check your motherboard's BIOS settings.
