I have just replaced my circuit board (balboa 53247) for my eclipse hot tub and as soon as I plugged the unit in, I got an OH reading from the top-side control. Then I noticed that if I pulled the temp. sensor half the way out from the circuit board, I began to see a normal display from the top-side control. When I push the connector back on all the way, the OH dispalys. Either way, the pump was coming on and staying on. I decided to see what would happen if I put the old circuit board back on and when I did and plugged everything back in, the display seems to work properly. The problem with the old circuit board was that when the hot tub reached the set temp., the unit would cut on and off continuously, but would only do this when it reached the set temp,, otherwise it would run until it tried to reach the temp. This is my second replacement of the circuit board and I was told that it could be a bad sensor. Are the sensors difficult to replace? Please explain

Unfortunately, I would have started with the sensors and then escalated from there. A hot tub is one of those items that I generally recommend hiring a technician to sort out, it's just flat not worth the headache of troubleshooting without the know-how.
As for your particular problem, the OH code on a Balboa control pack is "O.ver H.eating" it means that the heat sensor detected high temp and shut down to prevent damage to the system (as well as cooking you like a pink lobster) The sensor could be bad or the control board could be malfunctioning. A new sensor is $75-85 if memory serves me and is relatively easy to replace. one sensor is in the heating tube and the other is screwed into the tub shell to monitor tub temp. I would suggest new sensors, both of them because when one goes out the other usually isn't far behind. Make sure you shut the power to the tub off at the breaker box before doing any kind of tub repair. If you have shutoff valves on your tub you can replace the internal one without draining the tub. the one in the shell you need to drain to replace (at least to the sensor hole level) I hope this helps you to get your tub working properly again, if you still experience issues after this, I suggest biting the bullet and calling in a tech. Thanks for your question =)
