I have Karcher 520m and when you press the trigger you can hear what sounds like a relay engaging but there is no water pressure, then it will fire up and work, but next time you press the trigger the same thing happens, I have been using it on harvested water, but even connected to the mains it does the same thing. Its now got to the stage it doesnt want to work at all

The issue you are having is with the unloader valve in the pump. Now with the 520m it is a little bit harder to repair than with more gasoline powered pressure washers but it can still be done.
