I have locked high 4 wheel for 10 miles in mistaken and then listened a noise
I drove for 10 miles in high 4 locking then a noise raised i stopped for few minutes and unlocked and drove then noise vanished

When you use 4wd on hard surface ,there is a result called torque wind up that occurs in the transmission and drive lines. This is because the tyres cannot slip to even out the torque
The noise will be the transmission,transfer case and the diffs and drive lines reacting to the torque wind up.
