I have lost? diagram and am having trouble connecting up all plugs etc in the back. The main prob is the microphone, cant find a lead for it so i must have something in the wrong place, as noone can hear me on skype. Ok I am female and not too good on this stuff so need the diagram. Thanks
Microphone goes in to green plug with i believe 2.5 jack. Purple is for keyboard if you use PS2 connection and green for mouse same with PS2. usb can be plugged in to any of the usb slots.network cable goes in the one that looks like telephone jack but slitely bigger.
Usually on the rear of a desktop PC the microphone jack and the speakers' jack are the same size. One is light green and one is light pink.
This is a simple suggestion, not necessarily a solution. First, click Start, and Shut Down, so that your computer has been turned off.
Remove the speaker plug from the jack, then remove the microphone jack from it's jack. Reverse them, such that you've just put the pink plug into the green jack, and the green plug into the pink jack.
And BTW, I have seen males make the same mistake, so gender has nothing to do with this. I believe that the manufacturers of this gear at times does this on purpose, just to make people nuts with their computers.
