I have mazda mx3 6 cilinder, the key will not roll over engine and no spark from the distributor. Help plz
As further to my inquiry, I have jumped the starter to figure out that I have no spark. These 2 problems could they be related inbsomewsy?

Hi, might be worth getting your coil checked out.
Is the coil part of the distributor or is it separate?
Peggy Bonneau hello,
From your previous entry (?) this is your '91 that hasn't run for a long time (don't feel bad... parking them on their roof is a BIGGER sin (but still recoverable))... Do feel free to comment me back... I can be more precise (fewer words) if I knew more detail about your car, manual/automatic... recent history... symptoms when parked (especially).
When I hear things like the starter jumps... but won't turn engine...
I think bad thoughts...
If your engine TURNS by other means... You can IGNORE all
this STUFF... Comment me back... I'll try to find your relevant
Batter & Starter wiring diagrams.
Pull your ENGINE OIL dip-stick... Make sure there's (absolutely) no trace of moisture and that the oil is NOT overfilled.
Check that your fuel tank has FRES, CLEAN gasoline.
My primary suggestion would be to PUT number TAGS (folded onto itself: masking tape & making pen would be nice) on EACH
spark lead... Number them... Snap a quick picture with your cell-phone... and pull out all your spark-plugs.
Check all your plugs... make sure they are clean & properly gapped (else... replace them).
Get yourself a nice big SPRAY can of penetrating oil...
NOW ...I'm going to suggest your attach that little red extension NOZZLE to the spray top... BUT... I want you to put a wad of tape... a rubber band (bubble gum... whatever) on the little red tube... if it pops out-of the spray head (as they often do)... We really want it to fall HARMLESSLY to the GROUND... and NOT into the CYLINDER where we have it POINTED.
Liberally spay some penetrating oil into EACH CYLINDER...
let it soak for a while (coffee/tea break)...
Now you car s ready for you to try turning the main crank...
All gentle manual means would be better... If any of your rings have seized... re-apply more penetrating oil... & start looking where/how to disconnect the ignition coil.
We DO NOT want any SPARKS being generated... if you are again willing to GAMBLE with your starter...
Here is where the real... revivalists recommend you ceck for oil pressure BEFORE even thinking of putting your spark-plugs back in...
Hope you have foud this helpful.
Also hoping it is not coolant... that is keeping your engine from starting.
Good thoughts... good luck.
