I have not seen answer to my charging problem how do i troubleshoot my 11 hp briggs & stratton engine it is only putting out 12.5 volts not enough to keep the new batt charged when i mow my grass ??
12.5 v is actually optimal. You obviously have a drai. Coming from under the flywheel is a wire with a round red plug. That is a diode. I don't know if you know the function of a diode but it allows the voltage to travel only one way. When it blows, the voltage runs back thru the system and drains the battery. 12.5 volts is good.
