I have olympus digital camera d-595 zoom. The camera is connected to the PC with a USB however when I'm transferring the image from the camera to PC I get this message "the software is unable to find an olympus digital camera connected to a USB port". What could be wrong - I have windows XP
When the camera is connected to the computer does the camera LCD screen show a USB menu on it with the option of PC highlit? If so, then you need to press Ok on the camera to get the camera and the computer to start communicating. Once communication established the camera screen should go black and your computer should indicate that a removable disk drive has been created. If the disk drive does not get created that could be the problem. You may want to call Olympus technical support for further troubleshooting help/ Their telephone number is 888-553-4448 option 5 and then option 1.
