When the camera is connected to the computer does the camera LCD screen show a USB menu on it with the option of PC highlit? If so, then you need to press Ok on the camera to get the camera and the computer to start communicating. Once communication established the camera screen should go black and your computer should indicate that a removable disk drive has been created. If the disk drive does not get created that could be the problem.
