If your ATX switch mode power supply is faulty then I suggest you replace it with a new one that is 350 watt or higher wattage. Fixing faulty ATX power supplies is not a DIY project, there are dangerous voltages in these power supplies and can cause death or serious injuries.
Before you remove the mains lead from the computer and the wall socket, make sure the mains switch is turned off, then touch the metal case of your computer. This will discharge any static electricity that has built up in your body.
Have all your tools and parts ready to fix your computer, do not walk around after discharging any static electricity, especially on carpeted floor because you can build up a new static charge.
It is now safe to work on your computer, remove the power lead from the wall socket and commence fixing your computer. Before you remove the mains lead from the computer and the wall socket, make sure the mains switch is turned off, then touch the metal case of your computer.
