I have serveral PDT6842 scanners that initial have a dot beam, but changes to a full bar beam when the trigger is released. How do I change it back to a full beam with no dot?

It depends on the type of imager - sounds to me like you have the red dot/green dot scan engine. Its not possible to change it back
