I have the GE Plug in Mechanical Timer Model 15119. I have the pins pulled up on the white side at 5 and on the black side at 5 and the side setting on the timer position. Yet when I plug it in the wall and to my light it just comes on. How do I set this thing properly?

We had the same problem when we first tried to set our timer. Although we have a newer model, this might work for your timer as well. The pin for each 1/2 hour interval that you want the device to be "on" must be pushed toward the perimeter of the dial, not the center of the dial. For each 1/2 hour interval that you want the device off, the pins should be pushed toward the center of the timer. Don't forget to move the arrow on the dial to the current time just before plugging in the timer. Be sure the switch on the side of the timer is moved to "timer on", the override is "outlet on" for when you want your device to come on during the time that the timer is set to have your device turned off.
Be aware that this is for the #15004 model not the #15119 model. While they seem to work similarly (you can pull up on a pin and can push it towards the perimeter (outside edge), all you have to do is pull up ALL the pins, the push down on the pins that correspond to the time of day that you want the device to be ON.
