Engine noise can be detected through the signal wires (RCAs going to the amp) when they are too close to the power wire. Your RCAs MUST be ran seperately from the power wires; the power wire from the battery and the RCAs from the radio should be ran down opposite sides of the vehicle to the amp. Also, avoid running the power across the motor; if possible, pass the power wire through the firewall on the same side as the battery. If the problem continues, install a noise filter inline with the RCAs.
