I have the ultra 40 lcd tv same problems
My ultra is 4 years old and . I've tried everything the previous answers suggested except i couldn't figure how to remove the back to get to the inverter and scrape the connectors after i removed the stand and speakers and all the screws on the back it doesn't open. The power adapter comes on and the fan runs but could it still be the problem? and if it is where do i get one. I have taken it to a local repair shop that kept it 2 weeks and didn't have any luck . Perhaps the suggestion to junk it may be the easiest thing to do but I keep hoping it might be worth it to keep trying since it cost almost 3gr. I miss my HD and larger screen.

Do not really have a solution for Ultra 40: but I have one with a bad power supply, no luck in fixing it or finding another, but you may wonder why power supply went bad, overload from something bad in rest of Tv.?
I think anyone will be very lucky to find ANY parts anywhere for these Ultra tvs. PWW Service in Richmond, BC Canada ( 604-821-9918 ) has parts and the power supply...BUT they never answer the phone or return messages...( their web site is no good either, ).after about two weeks of calling PWW.. the guy told me they were no longer allowed to ship parts across the border to the US.
I took my power supply to electronic & Tv repair shop a week ago, he still has it and told me yesterday they can't do anything without a schematic..That I can find anywhere either!
I hate to junk the tv ,I give $2,499 for it... TV works fine ! just need the power supply !

At this time I gave up on getting the back off and took it to another repair shop on 4/17. He said there would be no charge to take a look at it. He also said his experience was that 3 to 4 years was usually the life of most of the flat screen tv's and probably would cost hundreds of dollars and then something else could go bad. Waiting to see if he will have a cost effective solution.
