I have three window ACs in my entire mobile home(double wide). One at the back of the house, one in the middle and one in the front. Each one is plugged into its own outlet. If I try to run more than one AC at a time the breaker pops. They seem to all be on one breaker as well as several other items in the house(ceiling fans, alarm clocks, etc..). The breaker has a 30 on it and the AC's Im not sure what they use but the AC units say to use a 15 amp. What can I do to fix it and can I do it myself? Susan

Usually when I install a window A\C I prefer to run a dedicated circuit for the very reason that your encountering. Sometimes if you use a heavy duty extention cord you can find a circuit thats not used very much to plug into. Extention cords run in three catagories; light, medium and heavy duty. Mobile homes traditionally have lightweight wiring to begin with so use caution if you decide to try using an extention cord, only use maximum of 25 feet.
Susan; # A/C units in a mobile hme is a little much to much. I'm surprised it hasn't burned down. Upping yor circuit breaker would cause an extreme fire hazard.
Consider having an electrician assess your predicament and for your safety quit overtaxing the circuit you are on..And did you know that an a/c unit that runs on 220 volts is cheaper and more efficient that the three units you have combined? An electrician can run a 220 dedicated line and you can put a single A/C unit in one location, Get your windows back and realize the returns on the investment virtually on the first electric bill. And, not be concerned about losing all to a fire. Just thinking of you Susan. NO EXTENSION CORDS!!!
Good Susan, no cords. Try cross cooling Turn one end on for awhile and then the other end. close all blinds or curtains. See if that helps. The middle a/c is self defeating. I wish I could do more.
