Hi, the non battery side of the camera sat in water for a couple of seconds, now it doesn't turn on.

First remove the batteries.
Then completely submerge the camera in rice (which draws out all the moist) and leave it there for a couple of days. With some luck your camera could come to life again, but as stated in the 1st answer: Camera's and water usually don't go together.
