I have wired up 6 x outside lights via a dawn dusk sensor ( 4 x 20w lights and 2 x 60w ordinary bulbs) which are connected to the Garage & Boiler circuit via a 3amp fuse box. Whenever the boiler kicks in the circuit breaker trips and shuts that circuit down. The 3 amp fuse stays intact. Can anyone tell me whats going wrong ?
The way you describe the connections, it looks like your 3Amp fuse is presently hooked up to protect the 6 lights, and by calculations, it will. Are you saying that this new hook up is feeding from a circuit that also runs the boiler? My guess is that the load from the boiler, with the extra draw from the lights exceed the breaker circuit limit. Let me know if that's what you mean! I would say if that's the case, find a separate feed for the lights in the circuit breaker panel so it does not load the boiler circuit. Let me know if this makes sense for your situation.
