I hit the wrong button on the remote - took me to a Dish option - I chose to exit. The screen is now black and blank, no matter what I do - no response. I went back to TV and chose channel again, but that didn't work. My other Dish TV is just fine - so it's a remote communication problem. thanks

From your description, it sounds like you have a black screen on your TV but you are not getting any response on your remote? Is this correct? The first thing you would want to do is unplug the receiver from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds and plug back in. This will cause the receiver to reboot and re-acquire the satellite signal. This should bring the picture back. I hope this helps.

The first thing you will need to do isunplug the receiver for 10 seconds and after plugging it back in it will powerup and once you see the green light on the receiver you will want to go tochannel 3.
