I Installed 2 Leviton Decora Single Pole dimmers (side by side) in my kitchen for overhead lights. The lights turn ON, but will not dim. I checked the bulbs, and they are "normal"...not non-dimmable. I did, however originally accidentally switched the ground with one of the black wires during the first hook-up (it was painted white), and when I first turned on the switch, one screw of one dimmer touched the other metal part of the other dimmer, and made a big POP, and a spark, and tripped the breaker. After re-configuring the wires correctly, the lights turn ON, but neither will dim. Did I ruin the dimmers? Or could something else be going on here? I correctly wired the dimmers across the room...with success. They work great. What's up with these two?

Yes you short circuited the dimmer switch, it requires replacement to dim the light.
