I jump started my 2012 holden cruze now I have no power to my ac. Yesterday somebody told me i could have damaged the computer. It that behind the ac unit?
It is possible to damage the ECM by ujump starting the car as there is a very specific procedure to follow to prevent a power surge when connecting up the battery leads. Most new jumper leads now being sold have a surge protection fitted into the wires to prevent this problem There are 2 possible answers to your problem. If the battery was so low or had been disconnected ( loose terminala) then the CPU program may have been corrupted resulting in the problem. In this case using a scanner will reset the program. Using a scanner will also read a code that will indicate bif the ECM is faulty but I would consider this not to be the case because if the CPU unit in the ECM is damaged there will be more problems evident and a list of fault codes . The engine probably would not start or perform erratically. Best have the fault codes read by an accredited , competent work shop.
