I just bought a 1989 Cadillac Bougham. I have to jump it to get it to run every time I turn it off. I have changed the battery, alternator and the starter. When tested these parts were all working as they should. I am baffled and don't know what the problem could be. Can you please tell me were I should look next? Is it the celenoid? What would you suggest?
Check the battery voltage while the car is running. If it is less than 13 volts, the juice isn't getting from the alt to the battery. This can be caused by a bad cable between the two. If the voltage is low while the car is running, turn it off and check for voltage at the alt where the main cable connects. If you don't get voltage there, then replace the cable.
